Edgar Martinez slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the St Paul Saints bested
the Minnesota Loons 5 to 4 at County Stadium.
Shane Reynolds(1-2) had a strong outing. He surrendered only 5 hits and no
walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Minnesota made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.
Billy Taylor recorded the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Dave
Burba(1-3). With this win, St Paul has a 5-7 record. They have been 3-7
lately. Minnesota can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they
have a miserable 1-9 record over the last couple weeks.
