The Cincinnati Royalty edged the Detroit Polecats at Fulton County by the
score of 4 to 3.
Cincinnati scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. Amos Otis drew a walk.
Otis took his lead and swiped second. After an out was recorded, Bruce Dal
Canton then threw one that got by the catcher for a passed ball. Steve
Garvey followed and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Cincinnati managed 10
hits in their victory.
The victory was credited to Mike Cosgrove(1-1) who went 2 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Tom Buskey got the save, his 2nd. The losing pitcher was
Dal Canton(0-1) in relief. He gave up 2 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings.
