The Cincinatti Royalty pitching staff was overwhelmed by the Towanda Black
Knights lineup who plated 12 runs while Ray Kremer(1-0), with relief help
from Johnny Wertz, allowed Cincinatti 4 runs.
Towanda jumped on top to stay in the 7th inning as they scored 3 runs on 2
base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Chick Hafey who electrified
Muehlebach Field when he belted a three-run homer. Cincinatti was out-hit by
Towanda, 13 hits to 8.
Kremer got help from Wertz who was credited with his 1st save. Tal
Strong(0-1) suffered the loss. He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings.
