Left fielder F.P. Santangelo had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Cinergy Field as the
Gallifrey Time Lords beat the Pittsburgh Bichipoos by the count of 8 to
5.
The game started off with Gallifrey taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The big moment was provided by Manny Ramirez who
silenced the stadium when he popped a two-run clout over the fence.
Pittsburgh tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Carlos Perez(2-1) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Perez was
helped out by Matt Karchner who recorded his 1st save. The losing pitcher
was Willie Blair(0-2).
Danny Murtaugh was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
