In a good matchup it was the Minnesota Loons 5, the Pinch Quicks 2 at County
Stadium.
In the 7th inning Minnesota scored 3 runs. The highlight belonged to Jose
Offerman who came through for the home fans when he doubled which was good
for two runs. Both teams ended up with 9 hits on the afternoon.
The win went to Brett Tomko(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Armando Benitez preserved the game for Tomko, recording his his 1st save.
Mike Holtz(0-1) was the loser in relief. He surrendered no hits and no walks
without retiring a batter.
