In an entertaining game at Lowell George Park the final score was the St Paul
Saints 4, the The Little Feat 1.
St Paul came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning with 3
runs on 3 hits. Sid Gordon led off the inning for St Paul when he was hit by
a pitch. Hunt then stole second base. After an out was recorded, Willie
Mays then ripped a base-knock driving in a run. Tommy Henrich was up next
and he laced a single. Eddie Malone stepped into the box and would ground
out plating another run. Jack Lohrke added to the rally and stroked a single
scoring the final run of the inning. The Little was out-hit by St Paul, 11
hits to 6.
Bill Peace(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Tom Ferrick earned his 3rd save. Tiny Bonham(2-1) was the losing
pitcher in relief. St Paul scored big getting 3 runs off him in 2 innings.
