TEAM RISP- Timbers: 3 for 10 Loons: 1 for 5
The Michigan Timbers ended a long winless drought and had very little trouble
at The Looney Bin downing the Minnesota Loons in 11 innings. The score was 8
to 2.
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Michigan
prevailed in the 11th inning. The critical plate appearance was by Steve
Brye who deflated the crowd as he launched a Grand Slam homerun. Michigan
totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.
Pedro Borbon(2-3) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Mike Paxton(0-2) was the loser in relief. Michigan scored big getting 6 runs
off him in 2 innings.
'It felt really nice to get this win,' Borbon said. 'I kind of dictated the
game. It's what I get paid to do. It worked out this time.'
