In a thrilling finish the Galifrey Time Lizards won in dramatic fashion coming
back to beat the Sterling Silver Sluggers by the count of 5 to 4.
Galifrey scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3 runs
on 3 hits. After two were out Joey Amalfitano kicked off the action when he
stroked a base-hit. Ken Boyer was next and he stroked a single. Rocky
Colavito then lofted a three-run 'big-fly' resulting in a mighty exciting win
for Galifrey and the 26,796 home town fans in attendance. Both teams ended
up with 7 hits on the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Frank Sullivan(1-2) who went 2/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Tracy Stallard(0-1) took the loss in relief. He was
knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
'What a win!', Sullivan said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
