Mark McGwire rocketed 2 homeruns as the Denver Dingers beat the Bristol
Blasters in 12 innings by a score of 6 to 5.
Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Denver won the hard
fought contest in the 12th inning. After two were out Andruw Jones ripped a
solo home run making Denver the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. Denver totaled 10 hits on the night.
Jerry Dipoto(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Rigo Beltran(0-1)
was tagged with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 1
hit and no walks.
