Flint Rhem pitched a 3 hit shutout as the Towanda Black Knights defeated the
Sterling Silver Sluggers by a score of 3 to 0 at Muehlebach Field.
Rhem(3-2) dominated Sterling hitters. He surrendered only 3 hits and 2 walks
in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.34 to 2.56. Sterling proved to be no
trouble in the 9th.
Yellowhorse Morris(3-1) was charged with the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 10
hits in 8 innings. When questioned about his counterpart after the game,
Morris was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were
going to be in for a long night. Rhem brought his 'A' game with him - he had
good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or
two bad pitches the entire game!
