Center fielder Jim Landis hit a homerun at Memorial Coliseum as the Colorado
14ers beat the Sugarland Skeeters by the count of 5 to 0.
Colorado went ahead for good in the 2nd inning scoring a single run using 2
hits. Jim Gentile doubled. Haywood Sullivan came next and he drew a walk.
George Thomas then doubled scoring the run. The early run support proved
sufficient for Billy Pierce(3-2) and Colorado. That was all the run support
Pierce required. Colorado had a total of 8 hits for the game.
Warren Spahn(2-5) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 4 runs and 6 hits in 6
