Bristol Blasters beat the Tenth Avenue Freezeouts 6 to 5.
Bristol took the lead for good in the 2nd inning scoring one runner on 2 hits.
Tenth Avenue had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory went to Groundhog Thompson(3-6) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 5 runs. Joe Page earned his 7th save. Bob Feller(3-3) took the
loss. He surrendered 6 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings and saw his ERA increase
from 2.55 to 3.03.
'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Thompson, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
