TEAM RISP- Qiller Bees: 4 for 9 Silver Sluggers: 0 for 8
Bill Monbouquette had a complete game and Marty Keough recorded 4 RBI with one
swing when he ripped a grand slam as the Queen Qiller Bees defeated the
Sterling Silver Sluggers by the score of 10 to 3 at LA Wrigley Field.
Keough provided much of the offense. He launched a Grand Slam homerun in the
1st inning and doubled plating a run in the 4th inning. The pitchers took
over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.
Monbouquette(3-4) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. The loss
was charged to Chuck Estrada(1-2). He had trouble throwing strikes and
issued 8 walks in 4 innings.
The win by Queen is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in recent
days. Their record now stands at a league leading 20-11 - only 2-8 in their
last ten games. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Sterling is 2-8
of late and now has an overall record of 17-17.
