In a close game the Towanda Black Knights scored 4 runs in the 1st inning and
got by the Michigan Timbers by the score of 7 to 5.
Jimmie Foxx had a big day at the plate. He smacked a single bringing home two
baserunners in the 1st inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning and
lined a base-hit which brought home a run in the 8th inning. Towanda won
despite being out-hit by Michigan 14 hits to 10.
The win went to Eppa Rixey(4-4) who allowed 5 runs in 7 innings. Porter
Charleston recorded the save, his 4th. The losing pitcher was Milt
