Keith Hernandez had 4 hits and 5 RBI at The Rum Cellar where the The Little
Feat beat the Savannah Rumrunners by the score of 9 to 3.
Hernandez had a good evening at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in the
1st inning, doubled clearing the bases in the 3rd inning, slapped a single in
the 5th inning and ripped a one-base hit in the 9th inning. The Little
finished with 13 hits while Savannah ended up with 8.
Jon Matlack(2-3) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Matlack
was helped out by Bill Campbell who recorded his 2nd save. Steve
Carlton(0-2) took the loss. He pitched 7 innings allowing 9 hits and 3
walks.
'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Hernandez said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
