The Michigan Timbers and the Sterling Silver Sluggers locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Silver Slapper Park. The final score was the Michigan
Timbers 4, the Sterling Silver Sluggers 3.

Michigan brought 3 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they came up
with 3 base hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Sterling had a chance
to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Clifford Carter(6-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings
and allowing 2 runs. Harry Salmon got the save, his 3rd. Yellowhorse
Morris(3-3) ended up with the loss. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 5
innings and not allowing an earned run.

Connie Mack was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
