Rev Cannady smacked 2 triples at Rolling Thunder Park as the Bumpass BS pulled
off a dramatic comeback beating the Hibbing Dylans by the count of 6 to
5.
Bumpass had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 4 hits. After
an out was recorded, Cannady got things going when he tripled. Martin Dihigo
followed and he laced a one-base hit driving in a run. Pat Collins then
stroked a base-hit. Huck Rile followed next and he smacked a single scoring
the final run of the inning. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5
times.
Ted Lyons(5-2) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 3 innings. Red Ryan
was credited with his 6th save. Nip Winters(2-3) was given the loss.
Winters was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get
away. What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One
minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I
get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
