Turk Lown delivered 4 solid innings at Wrigley Field where the Queen Qiller
Bees beat the Cincinatti Royalty by the score of 5 to 3.
Queen scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Don Hoak kicked off the
action when he doubled. After an out was recorded, Earl Battey came to bat
and was walked intentionally. Marty Keough then lashed a single resulting in
a run. Joe Koppe followed and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run
of the inning. Roy Face was perfect in the ninth giving him his 6th save on
the season.
Lown(1-2) got the win allowing no runs in 4 innings. Barry Latman(2-6) took
the loss. For Queen the victory was a welcome one, indeed. They had been
struggling in their last ten games with a disappointing 1-9 record. With the
loss, Cincinatti has a record of 3-7 lately, 16-27 overall.
