WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Leroy Stanton robbed Dave Rader of an extra base hit.

In a tight game it was the Minnesota Loons 8, the Seattle Pilots 6 in 10
innings at Candelstick Park.

Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. Minnesota was
victorious in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Dave Concepcion
got things going when he laced a base-hit. Bobby Grich next to the plate and
he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run giving Minnesota the win
as 30,162 happy fans joyfully celebrated. A wild and woolly affair, this
game saw the lead change 5 times.

The winning pitcher was Mike Garman(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings.
Mike Marshall(4-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits and 1
walk in 1 and 1/3 innings.
