WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Cesar Cedeno robbed Mitchell Page of a Homerun!
Left fielder Steve Henderson rocketed 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Denver
Dingers beat the Colorado 14ers by a score of 8 to 7.
Henderson was in a groove all day. He stroked a base-hit resulting in a run
in the 2nd inning, blasted a solo shot in the 4th inning, cracked a solo
homerun in the 6th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 7th inning.
Colorado made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.
Jim Barr(8-3) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Pete Vuckovich recorded the save, his 13th. Mark Lemongello(3-5) suffered
the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 5 innings.
'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Barr said,
'this was one of those times.'
