Guy Bush completed the game without help from the bullpen and Lou Gehrig left
the yard and had 2 RBI as the Iowa MoonlightGraham bested the Minnesota Loons
4 to 1 at The Looney Bin.
Iowa erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs using
4 hits. Lloyd Waner led off and started the attack as he slapped a one-base
hit. Frank O'Rourke stepped up next and he stroked a base-hit. Gehrig then
doubled knocking in a run. Rube Bressler followed and he drew a walk to load
the bases. Eggie Clarke was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim.
Pete Scott continued the rally and hit a single accounting for two more runs.
Minnesota went down quietly in the bottom of the 9th.
The winning pitcher was Bush(4-3) who allowed 1 run for the game. Garland
Buckeye(2-4) was the loser. He surrendered 4 runs and 9 hits in 7 and 1/3
innings.
