Catcher Len Pigg had 2 base hits and 4 RBI as the Savannah Rumrunners defeated
the Cincinnati Royalty 6 to 5 at The Rum Cellar.

Savannah started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first plating one baserunner on 2 base hits. Cincinnati threatened in
the 9th but their rally came up short.

Johnny Schmitz(2-3) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win.
Schmitz got relief help from Leon Day who gained credit for his 13th save.
Jay Heard(7-4) was tagged with the loss.

Blackbeard Teach was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good
contact, but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning
these tight ones! It was just our day - no doubt about it!'
