The Denver Dingers edged the Pittsburgh Bichipoos at The Couch by the score of
7 to 6.
In the top of the 5th inning Denver went on top for good scoring 2 runs using
2 hits. Mark McGwire kicked off the action when he doubled. Ellis Burks
stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk. Brian S. Giles then laid
down a sacrifice bunt. Charles Johnson followed and he laced a base-knock
scoring two teammates. John Wetteland was perfect in the ninth giving him
his 19th save on the season.
John Burkett(4-4) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Tim
Wakefield(1-8) was hit with the loss. Denver scored big getting 5 runs off
him in 4 innings.
