In a tight game it was the New Jersey Jackals 6, the Sterling Silver Sluggers
4 at Dodger Stadium.

New Jersey wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning with 3 runs
using 3 hits.  Rod Carew kicked off the action when he ripped a base-knock,
and an error was also committed.  Bud Harrelson came to the plate and would
ground out which brought home a run.  After an out was recorded, Dusty Baker
then drew a walk.  Jeff Burroughs came up and he doubled scoring one more
run.  Steve Ontiveros stepped into the box and laced a base-hit, and an error
was also committed, scoring the final run of the inning.  New Jersey had only
6 hits for the game.  

Frank Tanana(4-5) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Dick
Bosman recorded the save, his 3rd.  Catfish Hunter(3-10) was the loser.  New
Jersey now has a record of 28-36.  With the loss, the Sterling ballclub's
record is 33-34.
