Warren Spahn blanked Tenth Avenue allowing just 3 hits as the Sterling Silver
Sluggers outscored the struggling Tenth Avenue Freezeouts 4 to 0.

Spahn(5-7) simply dominated Tenth Avenue.  He surrendered only 3 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 2.89 to 2.67.  Sterling finished
with 7 hits in the victory.  

Hal Newhouser(7-2) was the loser.  'Spahn was the man tonight,' Connie Mack
said.  'He had just about every pitch working.'
