First baseman Jud Wilson hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Pittsburgh
Bichipoos defeated the Mid-World Bumblers in 11 innings by the score of 6 to
5 at The Couch.
Both teams had scored 5 runs after nine full innings. Pittsburgh won it in the
11th inning. Eddie Collins drew a walk. George Harper stepped into the
batter's box and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Wilson then doubled giving
Pittsburgh the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Pittsburgh
had 16 hits for the game and Mid-World had 10.
Willie Gisentaner(5-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Bert
Cole(1-1) took the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit in 1/3 of an
inning.
