Clyde Barnhart had 2 base hits as the Mid-World Bumblers defeated the
Pittsburgh Bichipoos by a score of 5 to 4 at The Couch.
Mid-World scored 3 runs in the decisive 3rd inning. The crucial at-bat was
provided by Hack Wilson who quieted the home crowd when he tripled plating
all three baserunners. Pittsburgh had a chance to come back in the 9th but
they came up short.
Joe Shaute(6-3) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Dick
Redding got the save, his 4th. Sheriff Blake(8-4) ended up with the loss.
Mid-World scored big getting 5 runs off him in 4 innings.
With this win, Mid-World has a 28-26 record. They have been 4-6 lately. With
the loss Pittsburgh now has a record of 37-32.
