Mike Torrez pitched a complete game and Joe Morgan blasted a homerun and had 3
RBI as the Pittsburgh Bichipoos topped the Galifrey Time Lords by a score of
8 to 5 at Busch Stadium.
Morgan had a big day against Galifrey. He laced a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, delivered a solo blast in the 3rd inning and doubled bringing home
two baserunners in the 6th inning. Galifrey made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Torrez(2-4) finished the game allowing 5 runs in the victory. Reggie
Cleveland(1-6) was given the loss. He gave up 6 hits and 3 walks in 5
innings.
Despite losing Galifrey's manager was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get
over this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't.
Any one of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
