TEAM RISP- Bichipoos: 3 for 12 Loons: 1 for 9

In a dramatic ending the Pittsburgh Bichipoos staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Minnesota Loons by the count of 6 to 5.

Pittsburgh came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs
using 3 hits. Tony Gonzalez kicked off the action when he slapped a
base-hit. Eddie Mathews followed and he drew a walk. Steve Bilko then
slapped a single plating a run. Dick Stuart stepped in and he was walked
intentionally to load the bases. After an out was recorded, Earl Averill
came to bat and ripped a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning.
Both teams ended up with 10 hits on the afternoon.

Dick Lemay(2-2) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Barney
Schultz recorded his 7th save. Hal Reniff(1-4) was tagged with the loss in
relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 1 hit without retiring a batter.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Lemay, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
