David Wells didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning and first baseman Andres
Galarraga hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the The Little Feat defeated the
Colorado 14ers in 10 innings by a score of 7 to 5 at Camden Yards.
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. The Little came out on
top in the 10th inning. Barry Bonds led off and he banged out a single.
Mike Lieberthal followed, but he was set down on strikes. One out later, Wil
Cordero then clubbed a two-run home run resulting in an exciting win for The
Little and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. The Little
had 14 hits for the game and Colorado had 7.
The win went to Rich Delucia(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The
left-handed Wells had his no-hit bid broken up by Mark Loretta who homered
with nobody out in the 6th inning. Doug Jones(2-9) was the losing pitcher in
relief. He allowed 3 hits and no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
