Chick Hafey slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Towanda Black Knights beat
the Savannah Rumrunners by a score of 10 to 6.
Red Faber(1-1) put in a pedestrian relief performance just good enough for the
victory. He went 3 innings and surrended up 3 hits and 4 walks. Both teams
ended up with 11 hits on the afternoon.
Carlisle Littlejohn preserved the game for Faber, recording his his 1st save.
Lefty Grove(6-9) was tagged with the loss. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 7 runs in 5 innings.
When questioned, Tom Kelly remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt this
good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
