TEAM RISP- Feat: 4 for 11 Red Pandas: 1 for 13
Johnny Pesky collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI at Corruption Park
where the The Little Feat beat the reeling Providence Red Pandas 6 to
4.
Providence was unable to climb back into it after The Little went ahead for
good in the top of the 2nd inning as they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits. The
big moment was provided by Al Dark who quieted the crowd when he doubled
which was good for two runs. Providence threatened in the 9th but The Little
was able to put down the rally.
Preacher Roe(9-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Willis Cathey gained credit for his 1st save. Hank
Borowy(8-6) was given the loss. He was knocked around by The Little,
allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Roe said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the
ball where I wanted it.'
