Right fielder Tommy Henrich knocked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the St Paul
Saints defeated the Savannah Rumrunners 14 to 7 at Wrigley Field.
Henrich was really 'in the zone'. He doubled plating two runs in the 2nd
inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 6th inning and popped a two-run clout
over the fence in the 8th inning. St Paul finished with 16 hits while
Savannah ended up with 13.
Rex Barney(2-2) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Steve
Gromek(12-5) was tagged with the loss in relief. Henrich said, 'It was just
all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate today. You've got to take
advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were definitely up a
little bit - right in my zone.'
