Third baseman Willie Kamm hit 2 doubles and Phil Cockrell held Mid-World to 3
hits at Silver Slapper Park as the Sterling Silver Sluggers beat the
Mid-World Bumblers 7 to 1.
Sterling went ahead for good in the 4th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3
hits. Sterling rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.
The victory went to Cockrell(13-7) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Yoyo
Diaz(11-10) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and
4 walks in 7 innings.
'Cockrell just dominated us' losing pitcher Diaz said. 'Hopefully we can get
to him the next time around'
