Center fielder Chaney White had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Colorado 14ers
beat the Sterling Silver Sluggers by a score of 5 to 2.
Ted Blankenship(6-1) pitched well for Colorado in their victory. He went 8
and 2/3 innings allowing 8 hits and 3 walks dropping his ERA from 3.82 to
3.54. Sterling threatened in the 9th but Colorado was able to put down the
rally.
Blankenship got help from Zip Campbell who was credited with his 11th save.
The losing pitcher was Yellowhorse Morris(7-8). He got hammered, allowing 7
hits and 5 walks in 4 innings.
'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Connie Mack
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
