The Colorado 14ers got by the Pittsburgh Bichipoos at The Couch. The final
score was 5 to 3.
Colorado scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning plating 2
runs using 2 hits. Johnny Bassler opened up the inning nicely when he drew a
walk. Andy High stepped into the batter's box and he popped a two-run clout
over the fence. Garland Braxton(12-5) got help from Zip Campbell who pitched
great and earned his 8th save.
Bill Doak(4-10) absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 2 innings and
surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks. The Colorado ballclub's record now stands at
60-47. With the loss, the Pittsburgh ballclub's record is 51-59.
