Sheriff Blake went the distance and Steel Arm Davis blasted a homerun and had
6 RBI at The Palace as the Pittsburgh Bichipoos beat the Cincinatti Royalty
11 to 4.
Davis was a one-man wrecking crew. He lashed a single which was good for two
runs in the 1st inning, doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 4th inning
and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 8th inning. Pittsburgh
rapped out 14 hits for the afternoon.
Blake(13-8) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. The losing
pitcher was Tal Strong(10-13). He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 3
walks in 6 innings.
'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Davis said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
