At The Carousel, the Tenth Avenue fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Joe
Hatten(8-9) finally bested his The Little opposite, Hank Miller(11-8), by the
score of 1 to 0.
The game was won by Tenth Avenue when they scored a run in the bottom of the
8th inning. Yogi Berra reached on an error. Two outs later Charlie Keller
came up and he banged out a single scoring the run. The Little had a chance
to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Hatten got help from Joe Ostrowski who earned his 6th save. The losing
pitcher was Miller. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 8 innings and not
allowing an earned run.
