The Savannah Rumrunners and the Colorado 14ers locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Bright Health Park. The final score was the Savannah
Rumrunners 3, the Colorado 14ers 2.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. After two outs Larry Biittner laced a
one-base hit. John Urrea then uncorked a wild pitch. Jim Sundberg then
ripped a base-hit scoring the run. Sundberg took second on the throw. Dyar
Miller earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 8th save.
Doug Bird(2-8) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Urrea(7-9) was
the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 4 hits and no walks in 2 innings.
