The The Little Feat ended a long winless drought and and the Towanda Black
Knights locked up in an exciting one-run game at Lowell George Park. The
final score was the The Little Feat 7, the Towanda Black Knights 6 in 11
innings.
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. The Little came out
the victor in the 11th inning. Jim Rice led off and he lined a one-base hit.
Cliff Johnson followed and he doubled resulting in a run. One out later,
Milt May was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Ted Sizemore was up
next and he bombed a two-run dinger giving The Little the victory as 49,910
happy fans celebrated wildly. Both teams totaled 12 hits on the night.
Paul Lindblad(2-1) went 1/3 of an inning allowing 1 run for the win. Doug
Capilla(1-6) took the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit in 2/3 of
an inning.
