Third baseman Dink Mothell had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at The Rum Cellar where
the Savannah Rumrunners beat the Minnesota Loons in 11 innings 3 to 2.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. Savannah came out the victor in the 11th
inning. After an out was recorded, Bobby Reeves lashed a single. One out
later, George Grantham stepped in and he singled. Babe Ruth then doubled
giving Savannah the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Neither
team was able to score until the 6th inning.
The win went to Rube Currie(7-8) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Bill
Drake(3-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 run and 3 hits in
2/3 of an inning.
