In an great finish the Colorado 14ers won in dramatic fashion over the
Michigan Timbers by a score of 5 to 4 at Bright Health Park.
Colorado had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs utilizing 3
base hits. Willie Wells initiated the scoring when he blasted a solo shot.
After an out was recorded, Chaney White came to bat and drew a walk. Andy
High then laced a base-hit. After another out, Charlie Gehringer stepped up
to the plate and he banged out a single resulting in an exciting win for
Colorado and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Overall
Colorado out-hit Michigan 11 to 8.
Zip Campbell(11-6) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Wilcy
Moore(20-5) took the loss in relief. 'What a game!,' Campbell said
afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
