In a one-sided affiar at Mile High Ballpark the final score was the Pittsburgh
Bichipoos 14, the Denver Dingers 9.
Denver was unable to claim the lead after Pittsburgh went ahead in the top of
the 5th inning when they scored 6 runs on 7 hits. The crucial at-bat was
provided by George Harper who deflated the crowd as he lined a base-hit
scoring two baserunners. Pittsburgh kept the scorekeepers busy in the 5th
inning when they had 6 runs on 7 hits and the 6th inning which saw them score
6 runs on 6 hits. Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, Denver could not
get the win.
The win was credited to Willie Gisentaner(7-9) who went 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 9 runs. Kent Greenfield(5-6) was hit with the loss. He was not very
effective, surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
