Right fielder Hank Bauer had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Verdell Mathis had a strong
outing at Silver Slapper Park where the Pinch Quicks beat the league door-mat
Sterling Silver Sluggers in 12 innings by the score of 6 to 4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Finally, Pinch prevailed in
the 12th inning. Davey Williams got things going when he ripped a
base-knock. Hill then stole second base. Bauer then was walked
intentionally. Aaron Robinson was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.
Clyde McNeal came up to bat and reached on an error resulting in a run.
Jerry Coleman joined his teammates in the uprising and worked the squeeze
play to perfection scoring the final run of the inning. Pinch out-hit
Sterling for the game, 16 hits to 7.

The win was credited to Bill Byrd(12-9) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Byrd got help from Roberto Vargas who earned his 15th save. The loss was
charged to Vic Lombardi(0-5) in relief.
